Happy 4th of July!

We had a mini Independence Day celebration with Steffanie and Byron.  It was quite fun.  We went up Hobble Creek Canyon and roasted brawts and hot dogs over the fire.  Then we went back to the Martz's and watched fireworks and had yummy homemade ice cream from a faulty ice cream maker that we gave them...oops!

Hobble Creek Canyon.  If you look really closely in the back of the photograph towards the left by the trees, you can see a dead and rotting cow carcass complete with maggots and bullet holes.  It stunk pretty bad, but by the time we figured out what it was we were already set up..oh well.

Waiting for the fireworks.

We tried to make a giant four (for July 4th!  Get it??) on the grass with sparklers, but we were not too successful.  Byron and Matt have burn marks to prove it.

Attempting to watch fireworks on the roof.  Silly idea because roof tiles were coming loose, and when the fireworks finally started, a giant tree was blocking them so we had to climb back down anyways.

Darn... I was hoping you'd post a picture of that handy dandy brawt roaster that Matt made... because it was sweet! and because it was funny that it didnt work! and funny again when he dropped the brawt into the fire for the second time after fishing it out of the fire...haha

Also... please take note... the plural of Martz (or any other word that ends in a "z") does not require an "s"... so it would actually be " the Martz' " with the apostraphe and not the "s" ... glad I shared that :) ...hope it made sense
