Buckskin Gulch

We hiked 21 miles through the longest slot canyon in the world this weekend.  It was completely amazing.  I felt like we were walking into a cave half of the time.  The hike wasn't too bad.  About 80% of it was through sand giving my calves the best workout they've ever had!  I also showed the boys how to rope climb down a steep part (they were having trouble), and I got to climb up some little foot holes the size of a tennis ball on the side of the canyon (with Rob's help of course)!  It was awesome.  The canyon was an interesting place.  Must be rough for any animals living around because as Dave said, "it looks like there's a carnage going on down here."  We ran into some pretty nasty stuff including dead and rotting crow carcasses, rabbit feet spread across hundreds of feet, dead mice, animal skulls, and full skeletons...it was sick.  Besides all of this, I would seriously recommend it to anyone.  It was incredibly beautiful and the view never got old.  Pictures to come.
